Back in 1965, brothers Levon and Arsen Demirdjian dreamed of opening a truly authentic Armenian restaurant in Chicago. Not only did they hope to feed the city's growing Middle Eastern population; they also wanted to give adventurous foodies a taste of something new and exciting. But first, they needed a woman's touch. After months of testing recipes with the Armenian grandmothers in their lives–women who had been cooking long before they ever set foot on American soil–the two brothers opened the first Sayat Nova location on Sheridan Road. More than four decades later, the menu at our Streeterville location is still as authentic as the day it was born, as is our passion for serving traditional Armenian dishes in a relaxing setting to new and longtime customers.
