Dr. Jamila Cherry is originally from Oakland, CA. She graduated from Florida A&M University with a BS in Animal Science and went on to earn her DVM degree from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Cherry completed a Small Animal Medicine and Surgery Internship in Sacramento, California. She is primarily interested in emergency medicine as well as integrative medicine. In her spare time, Dr. Cherry is a freelance gallery artist and commissioned painter. She enjoys cooking, yoga, and spending time with her family.
This hospital is one of the best. I fully support SPCA. They show me they have true animal love! They are not money hungry. I have never been in a situation where I had to pay first for my pet to get treated. They have always taken her in and gave her treatment with care and love, and then I went to pay my dues. All staff are extremely friendly and helpful. I can honestly say if it is SFSPCA I feel like my "Dory" is in good hands! Thank you to all the staff and I really wish this can be a 24 hospital because it beats everything else in my opinion. God bless you all and thank you for always taking care of my Dory she loves you all!
Everyone at the SPCA clinic has been very helpful, super knowledgeable and supportive always trying to help in what they can no matter what department. Even when my family had to take my pup they were extremely satisfied with the service they received. Also I never feel rushed. They take their time getting to know you and your animal.
2021: I adopted my kitten (see photos of her here) here in December, 2013. She had an ailment that the vet. here took care of well. She's been a wonderful pet! Always get your pets at adoption centers like the SFSPCA. Save a life or 2. 3/5/24: They treated my cat 🐈 with compassion. The place was clean. The staff were professional.
We had our cat spayed with SF SPCA all years ago and last year we adopted our dog from SF SPCA so naturally took her back for wellness exams and all her follow up shots. This visit is the MOST efficient experience I've ever had. The wait time was minimal - I didn't even have a chance to complete paperwork before being greeted by Nurse Mary. Dr. Indiana Madden was also excellent and thorough. I didn't feel like I was inconveniencing anyone, which is how owners of very excited, hyperactive pets can feel. There was more confusion/friction with the various communication channels (email, voicemail, text, online appointment system and Otto chat) than there was with the visit. I'm looking forward to things getting even more streamlined as they get new systems together. This was GREAT and I walked away not minding whatever the fees were. Awesome services and supporting great causes. Don't forget the way I did that they have a dedicated lot for vet clients!
